The Mindfulness Meditation Group
The Mindfulness Meditation Group meets every Thursday from 1 to 3 pm and is open to both beginners and experienced practitioners. Each gathering includes a 30-minute meditation, with the first 10 minutes guided, followed by silent practice. A presentation and group discussion follow the meditation.
Topics explore mindfulness as a practical skill for daily life and draw from secular Buddhist teachings, philosophy, psychology, and lived experience. Topics may include awareness, reactivity and responsiveness, ethics, generosity, gratitude, habit patterns, and how we relate to stress, aging, and uncertainty.
The group emphasizes direct experience over belief, and discussion is encouraged. No prior meditation experience is required, and no particular belief system is assumed. The intention is simply to cultivate greater clarity, steadiness, and human flourishing through mindful attention—both on and off the cushion. All are welcome. www.
